The Waldo Canyon Fire is now estimated at 3,450 acres. No structures have been damaged or destroyed by the fire.

The most intense fire activity since yesterday was near Cedar Heights on the west side of Colorado Springs and near Cascade.

Highway 24 will remain closed for the foreseeable future. The highway is closed from Cave of the Winds to Crystola at the El Paso/Teller County line.

A Type One Fire Team is in place and engaged in the fire fighting process.

An Air Quality Advisory is in effect in El Paso County until at least 4 p.m. Residents are asked to avoid strenuous activity and stay indoors if possible.

Two helicopters will fight the fire today and several fixed-wing planes will be on standby if needed.

Evacuated residents are asked to register with the Red Cross Safe and Well program.
